it is free to watch watch, while sunbathing, swimming, surfing and more. There’s even free surfing lessons if you feel like getting involved.
The surfing competition itself offers a RM8,000 cash prizes, with trophies and goodie bag. But for that, you’ll pay. Entry fees are low though, only RM50 for Malaysians and RM80 for international competitors in both the men and women categories, while Grommets (young ‘uns) are free. If you’re keen, contact Fina from the Sabah Surfing Association on +60 12-306 9977.
